Be Still

  The morning mist hung low over the almost still water. The only movements on the glossy, grey surface were the soft ripples from the fish as they became more active. Images of the homes on the opposite banks peered through the thinning fog and the rising sun had just  started to spread its orangy glow across the horizon in majestic splendor. The fluorescent lighting reflected off the glossy covers of the magazines like a beacon, beckoning my attention to the strategically placed magazine rack at the check out counter.  The super sexy model on one cover smiled back at me as if she had been waiting to catch my gaze.
